Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Mothers and Fathers For Equal Rights online membership payment and application portal. By using this website, submitting an application, sending payment, signing electronically, or submitting a review or feedback, you agree to these Terms.
1. Membership Portal
This portal allows applicants to select a membership, pay securely online, complete an online intake application, sign electronically, and submit application information for staff processing.
2. No Emergency Service
This website is not an emergency service. If you have an emergency, safety issue, court deadline, hearing, warrant, protective order issue, or urgent legal matter, contact the appropriate emergency, court, law enforcement, or licensed legal professional immediately.
3. No Guarantee of Outcome
Membership, education, consultation access, document support, referrals, or guidance do not guarantee any court result, custody result, visitation result, child support result, legal outcome, or government action. Your results depend on facts, law, evidence, deadlines, court decisions, and your own actions.
4. Legal Information and Attorney Services
General information, education, forms, resources, and intake support are not a substitute for legal advice from a licensed attorney. No attorney-client relationship is created by using this website, submitting an application, paying membership dues, or communicating with staff unless a licensed attorney separately agrees to represent you under a written agreement or applicable professional rules.
5. Membership Options
Basic Membership covers one individual. Family Membership covers the applicant and their legal spouse only. Extended relatives, in-laws, adult children, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other family members must apply separately.
6. Payment Terms
Payments may be made by secure card checkout or by a secondary Zelle option reviewed by member services. Your payment purchases one (1) year of Fathers For Equal Rights membership and member services. All sales are final. Payments are non-refundable once sent, except where required by applicable law or a written agreement signed by Fathers For Equal Rights. No payment plans are offered.
7. Payment Verification and Account Activation
Submitting an application or clicking Confirm does not automatically activate membership access. Online applications are marked pending until card payment is confirmed by the payment processor or staff verifies an alternate payment option. Member access, member roles, and any member dashboard access are activated only after payment verification.
8. Your Responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information; keep your contact information updated; submit only your own application or an application you are authorized to submit; preserve your payment confirmation; respond to staff follow-up; and avoid submitting false, misleading, abusive, unlawful, or unauthorized information.
9. Electronic Signature and Records
You agree that electronic signatures, acknowledgements, checkboxes, timestamps, submitted forms, PDF records, payment records, and system records may be used as electronic records connected to your application and membership. You consent to receiving records electronically when you use the online portal.
10. Acceptable Use
You may not misuse the website, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with service operations, submit malicious code, scrape or overload the system, impersonate another person, submit fraudulent payment claims, or use the system for unlawful purposes.
11. Reviews and Feedback
You are responsible for the content you submit. By submitting a review or feedback, you grant FER permission to store, review, and use it for service improvement, testimonials, or operational purposes. Do not include confidential court details in public-facing reviews.
12. Third-Party Services
The portal may rely on trusted third-party providers for hosting, payment processing, browser features, email, records, security, and other operational support. FER is not responsible for outages, delays, errors, or policies controlled by third-party services.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FER and its staff, volunteers, representatives, service providers, and affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost opportunities, court outcomes, data loss, service interruptions, or user mistakes arising from use of the portal or membership services.
14. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to hold FER harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses arising from your misuse of the portal, inaccurate information, unauthorized submissions, violation of these Terms, or violation of another person's rights.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute must be handled in a proper court or forum located in Texas unless applicable law requires otherwise.
16. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms as the system, law, or operations change. The updated version will be posted with a new effective date. Continued use of the portal after updates means you accept the updated Terms.
